The Walks
Walks in Spain

For the first half of the week we have chosen the best coastal walks along the prettiest stretches of the Costa Brava. Our walking itinerary includes two coastal walks featuring the most spectacular stone and sand coves flanked by marvellous cliffs topped by typical Mediterranean vegetation. A contrasting forest walk through thick pines and cork oaks ending in the quaint medieval village of Pals makes for a memorable start to the holiday.

Our next destination is La Garrotxa Natural Park, boasting some of the best volcanic landscapes in the Iberian Peninsula. Only a short drive from our base in Banyoles and we are in the thick beech tree forests surrounding the volcanoes. With a wealth of well preserved medieval villages to visit and easy to moderate walks of outstanding natural beauty or easy lakeside rambles through stunning countryside, the Catalonia and Costa Brava walking tour has it all.

And that is not all, our final nights stay is in the small city of Girona. A city best enjoyed on foot, losing yourself in the stone labyrinth of alleys and narrow streets, stopping at one of the cafes in the pretty plazas that lead to the beautiful cathedral.

Where will you be staying?
Walks in Spain

Our base for the first three nights is the pretty village of Begur. Perched on a small hill overlooking the Mediterranean the village is stooped with history as is evident from the striking silhouette of the medieval castle and the narrow maze of streets.

Our second base is Banyoles where our accommodation is on the fringe of a beautiful lake and just 10 minutes walk to the centre of town with it’s boutique shops, cafes and plazas.

Final destination is Girona making the transfer to the airport for your flight home just a little bit nearer.
